Snap uses ChatGPT for their new chat feature

When a company like Snap uses ChatGPT for a consumer application that touches millions of users, doesn’t this come with data privacy and security issues. At AWS, we keep telling customers that they cannot use ChatGPT because of these concerns. But, you hear more and more companies embracing GPT4 and ChatGPT for B2C and B2B applications on massive scale. What’s the catch here. AWS’ claim that we are the only secure and reliable vendor to do generative AI feels nonsensical to me. Prove me wrong. TC: 425

You are right. We come up with some dumb reasons why customers should not use ChatGPT and GPT-4.

Google dogfoodie Apr 20, 2023

I thought prompts that came through the API weren't included in the training.

Google AnP03 Apr 20, 2023

Yeah very soon there will be d pic training data from snap.

Not hot dog

Because of the unknown. This can be awesome at the same time blow up in the face. It’s a risk some companies are willing to take and some aren’t.

BHG Financial data_dude1 Apr 20, 2023

The snap bot told me it isn’t using gpt4

Amazon beinak OP Apr 20, 2023

Uses ChatGPT. Check news

BHG Financial data_dude1 Apr 20, 2023

It lied to me

Salesforce beefcake9 Apr 20, 2023

Snap doesn't use gpt

Amazon beinak OP Apr 20, 2023

Uses ChatGPT

Snap hơkw Apr 20, 2023

This is a very stupid statement. Do you even understand the difference between using fine-tuned GPT models vs using ChatGPT?

Amazon linvvc Apr 20, 2023

Most people don’t 😁

Snap hơkw Apr 20, 2023

Oversimplified explaination: Think of GPT models as a program that can be run offline and has no Internet access. Each company (Snap, Microsoft, OpenAI, etc) take the same original GPT model, then train it with their own proprietary data to teach it different knowledge, then publish them as separate models that know nothing about each other. ChatGPT is OpenAI’s fine tuned model BingAI is Microsoft’s fine tuned model MyAI is Snap’s fine tuned model. So on so forth Understand?

Amazon beinak OP Apr 20, 2023

Fine tuned on what. Snap shouldn’t be collecting user’s data and using it for fine tuning.

Amazon linvvc Apr 20, 2023

I bet no one reads the fine print when they hit I agree before pressing the sign up button 😉

Snap hơkw Apr 20, 2023

Lol another amateur question from OP

Google CJuu71 Apr 21, 2023

Snap doesn't use ChatGPT but have their flavor built on top of GPT. There is no integration with Open AI.
