Snapchat Research - Poor Culture?

How bad is the culture in the ML research and Applied research teams? Here are my data points. - Recruiter calls back immediately to my job application and warns of lots of rejections for the role. I didn’t care coz tough interviews are a learning experience. - Interviewer doesn’t introduce themselves; Doesn’t ask for introduction. - Interviewer doesn’t know any details about the team that’s hiring for the role or what they are working on - 4 yrs back my PhD colleague declined a return offer from their internship after publishing a paper with them - My college friend, a tenured Bay Area Engineer declined snap after onsite as people in his loop were not positive about the company and outlook
