Snapchat monetization vs infra storage team?
Thoughts on what team to join in Seattle as a new grad SWE? Advice appreciated, need to decide soon.
Both are strong, so I’d just pick based on what you want to do in your career. If you want to work on ads/payments, monetization makes sense. If you want to work on infra and scaling a service used by hundreds of millions, infra. Infra team tends to be a bit more senior I think.
Agree here. Monies has some EXTREMELY experienced and talented peeps, and filled out the ranks with smart junior folks who are doing great. Infra definitely has a deep bench, and it can be hard to get to own something large with so many senior people around. You have to create your own path.
I have interview with them, how were the interviews?
Lots of leetcode prep will help, otherwise straightforward.
Given you are in Seattle, I'd choose infra as they are centered around there, where as monetization is centered in LA
Depending on interests though, I would choose Infra storage, they are working on interesting challenges

I heard infra in good. I spoke with the manager in Infra team feel the project would give you opportunity to learn cloud technology. Don't know much about monetization. Make sure you get the offer that have even stock vesting schedule!
Is that negotiable? I got a schedule heavily vesting in 3/4th year
Talk with your recruiter asap. They just changed it this week. Don't sign your offer without getting more details on that.
