Funny to see all or most of the seemingly harmless apps/services we signed up for (giving up our data) back when we were kids and thought these were simple apps created by a 1-2 person teams and not big “enterprises”, are now riding on that personal data to the billion-dollar islands of investments and IPOs and what not. Truecaller is the recent one that got me thinking. Facebook is another - followed by WhatsApp, Viber, Shazam, LinkedIn, Yelp - the list goes on. Lol.
