There’s been so much drama at Rippling that’s only been talked about in the internal Blind. I’m sharing the worst of it here so that people know what they’re getting into. Do not join Rippling. It isn’t worth your health and your career. - 20% of the Eng org was PIPped by decree of the CTO - Multiple rounds of random firings - Someone was fired for a two line PR - Someone was demoted from a managerial role to an IC role (you lose a level on the ladder) - Concerns about making our revenue goals for the year (we won’t) - Profit margins are awful, no hope about becoming profitable - Engineers and PMs are randomly fired constantly, nobody knows why. PIPs aren’t used. - Multiple major incidents a day - Struggling to hire good people with our reputation - Excessively long hours and cross-time zone meetings constantly - No moat, no plan to take on Workday - PMs have firing power over engineers, use it in some orgs - New CTO hired many of his old friends who lack experience. - Seriously, so many firings stories. At least a dozen posts. - Some really sketchy production practices that will blow up soon. - Stock doesn’t vest when recruiters say it will. - Lots of people fired right before their 1-year cliff - People fired after taking medical leave or paternity leave That’s just the past few months.
What was in the PR?
probably pull request
OP is asking what was the two line change.
Judging by the two people I know there, yeah that checks out. I'm so sorry this is happening. Hoping you can get out safely.
Sounds better than 🍌 company
Oh please. Amazon is garbage compared to Google or Meta, but way better than Rippling.
Don't doxx yourself
I’m just restating what’s been posted in internal Blind. Nothing to doxx me.
Awesome. Some of these points, some folks may recognize. Knocking wood for you guys.
Thank you coming forth with this information, OP. I’ll be sure to share this with anyone who’s considering joining Rippling. Internal Blind channels are worth their weight in gold, and the anonymity of the platform allows people who would otherwise be silenced and censored into oblivion to voice their criticisms and concerns about their workplace and warn others about what’s going on. Here’s hoping things improve for you and the rest of our friends at Rippling, OP. TC: 105K
Rippling, not Ripple. Ripple is the crypto company. Rippling is the HR/revenge company founded by the disgraced Zenefits founder, Parker Conrad.
I apologize for the mistake, OP. Thank you for pointing that out. I updated my comment.
I had an interview last week with one of the managers, and he boasted about how the company outperforms expectations each year 😅
What’s wrong with that?
Those are shitty words.. Don't trust whoever working there. Better to ask someone who left from there or PIPed from there
I was interviewing for a associate director role… read the reviews and retracted myself from the interview process 🥶
That's interesting because we don't have an associate director role.
It wasn’t specifically that name in title … I don’t want to comment the actual name because it was a small candidate pool but it was equivalent to a associate director in the business is what recruiting said
Anyone at Rippling with anything positive to say? I joined them last week and want some optimism lol
Wait until you meet our CEO. He’s charming just like how the media portrays him.
Hey man! For new guys it’s not as bad as it is portrayed. Just keep a good rappo with your manager and team, and deliver tasks as promised. Don’t over commit. And the above comment about our CEO is correct.
It does, same culture company wide
Possibly worse
All the rippling drama makes me feel better about being ghosted mid interview process last year
sounds like Zenefits all over again.
Ohhh Parker
