So some developers suggest that “master/slave database” may sound “unpleasant” to someone and advocate to use “primary/secondary database” instead. What do you think?
What about Red Black trees
For the record I am ready to adopt anything which is perceived to be less offensive.
Please stop saying “for the record”: records were disproportionately inaccessible to lower socioeconomic classes when they were first introduced. Please use “as a matter of statement” instead.
It was always offensive and made me uncomfortable whenever I used it.
Agreed.
I'm sorry your weak frail mind can't handle handle describing a light filter. Morons. It's not about races it's about if light is let through a filter. Blacklists do not emit light when blocked, hence black, darkness, nothing. Whitelist emit light when allowed. It's dark until something in the filter allows light through. It's talking about the type of filter and the direction of light.
I used to jerk off to this naming convention
Primary and secondary sounds more appropriate than master and slave if you ask me.
Wtf?
Calling something "slave" when you can easily call it "worker" is pretty weird.
they both mean the same.
I've been so surprised this terminology hasn't gotten flagged yet lol. It's still common in the industry.
Whitelist/Blacklist is definitely blacklisted....oops!
Glad that blue/green deployments are still valid.
Are they? Navi folks on Pandora disagree. Totally discriminatory for these folks 😜
What's wrong with primary/secondary? If anything it makes more sense.
What are you trying to say about secondary class citizens? 🧐
That they are better than slaves 🙂
