Phone Screen was a LeetCode medium. On-site was: 1 medium 1 super hard. He laughed about the super hard. I’ve never seen it on LeetCode. He was REALLY relaxed and said I did great. 1 easy 1 medium. The interviewer was a jerk. She got me in the coding platform, then she asked me to share my screen. I asked whether she could see the coding platform and she said she was in it and she wanted me to share my screen. I was really confused and asked her which screen she wanted me to share. She seemed upset that I had multiple monitors and said forget it. I did the problems and then she started poking me with questions about SOLID design principles. It felt so weird. System Design: Pretty straightforward. Design an AWS-style service that lets users see their current running bill. HM: Project questions. System Design: Metrics and searchable logs. Failed the interview. They said I wasn’t collaborative enough. I saw this excuse listed in some LeetCode and 1p3a reviews. It’s the only time I’ve ever heard it.
SoFi will survive this downturn but its great days were 2018-2021 and I think it is worthless to join right now. Unnecessary risk
Yes, the best time to join was when the stock was $20-$25 a share, so that your grant could now be worthless. I don't understand why so many people are scared to "join the dip" and prefer to buy high and sell low. Right now could be the most valuable time to join in the company's history. Of course there is risk, but the upside wouldn't be as high without risk.
Based on what I hear, u dodged it.. Is Sofi even a good tech company? Genuinely asking
I really liked 3/5 of the interviewers. I figured out later she might’ve been doing that as anti-cheating. She said it was a standard practice (lol nope). I think the org I was interviewing for was pretty tiny.
We've had 5 CTOs in the past 6 years or so. If we can get some stability in eng there is a lot of potential. The finance and business side is what is top tier and driving our growth. We have also caught people cheating, so that person was probably paranoid.
