Social experiment to crack jobs by faking

I'm a software engineer, but I'm curious to know if it would be possible to crack engineering or product manager interviews at FANGish companies by simply faking behavioral questions in the interview. Do you think a SWE can become an EM/PM by faking my exaggerating my resume to sound like EM,PM work, and faking behavioral questions?

Two Sigma icReWI Feb 2, 2019

Would you make up your resume as well?

Microsoft Desitechie OP Feb 2, 2019

Yes... I'd claim to be currently employed as a PM or EM

Apple Hansel2 Feb 2, 2019

I welcome your attempt - it would be amusing to see an attempt to flex your way out of core CS conceptual questions that I use.

Microsoft Desitechie OP Feb 2, 2019

I'm a SWE --i have no issues with whiteboard questions. It's only the behavioral part I need to fake

Microsoft BcrX06 Feb 6, 2019

What is hard about the behavioral part? I recently interviewed at Google, but only had coding questions.

You need therapy

Microsoft Desitechie OP Feb 2, 2019

Thanks. Refer me to your psychiatrist or psychologist?

Huh. I thought that IS the only way

That’s racist. There are all types of people everywhere.

Google hooli.xyz Feb 2, 2019

Not being racist, just saying from experience. Back when I used to work with vendor teams from Indian consulting shops, we had so many problems with Indian engineers claiming 10+ years of experience in Java but unable to even compile their code. I had to waste a lot of time interviewing each and every engineer before they can start work on our codebase. Too many Indian engineers have never touched the command line and are completely lost if they are not using Eclipse. I never saw this when working with Eastern European teams. They were all solid engineers and learned very quickly. Very flexible with technologies/languages and masters of the Unix/Linux command line.

You just have to be able to answer a few simple questions to be one. 1) Can you pretend to like cold brew? 2) Would you take 2 hour walks around the campus each day, but set your chat status to on a call/in a meeting?

Vlocity FTJU Feb 2, 2019

Pretending to like cold brew..lol

Apple iCould Feb 2, 2019

You'll fail background checks anyway

Microsoft Desitechie OP Feb 2, 2019

I'll see if I can game those too

Meta ifidhegs Mar 14

Were you able to game it?

Nvidia smartpm9 Feb 2, 2019

Another desperate Indian who wants to be a PM, what’s this crazy obsession with MBA, becoming PM, white girl 🤦‍♂️?

Microsoft Desitechie OP Feb 2, 2019

PM - they make the same as SWEs without doing the real skilled part --coding and debugging MBA- just so you don't have to do real work and just bs White girl-- usually hotter than Desi girls Plus Indian culture is shitty
