Hi Blind Family, wanted to know the responsibilities and day to day activities of Backend engineers at big tech companies. What are the code reviews or code development they do primarily? Do they work mostly on API development? Thanks TC: $100/hr Contract #amazon #microsoft #google #apple #netflix #vmware #aws #tesla
Work with PMs to understand what customers need, and how that will translate into features and schedules. Work with other engineers and PMs to figure out how to implement the results of the above. Design solutions to the above problems, get partners / stakeholders to agree on solutions. Work with other engineers and PMs to figure out how to implement what their customers need. Work with your management to figure out timelines for your work. Work with customers (sometimes internal customers, sometimes paying customers) to understand bug reports, figure out what to do about them. How to fix, how to work around or mitigate, when to fix, etc. Figure out how to schedule that work along with everything else. Figure out how what you learned affects everything else you're working on, and/ or what other peeps are working on. Write code, and tests. Come up with better ways to test. Review code from teammates and partner teams. Come up with ideas for revising or rewriting code to help with all of the things above. That's not a complete list, but it's a start.
Great summary. The new features that are developed, what do they involve mostly? Are thorse related to REST API’s mostly?
Long reply but none of them referencing backend role spec
