Any software engineers at Disney World in Lake Buena Vista/Orlando? I've applied for a position and could use some help finding a reference that could get my resume to the right people! I use to be a CP but my old contacts aren't relevant to the engineering org. Any help would be greatly appreciated! While we're at it; how is it being a software engineer for the "mouse"? Cheers Tl;dr - Looking for a contact at Disney World for software engineer position. How's being an engineer for the "mouse"?
They crib about h1b’s replacing their jobs
Seems like a lot of the job force is like that in the south, but haven't seen much of it in the software industry. Actually, surprised to hear that about Disney since it appears to be very diverse. Thx for the info!
Do they give a free pass as a perk?
The way it use to be (at least 9 years ago) was employees got in the park for free and got discounts for just about everything. They also got a number of passes to get family and friends in for free quarterly, or maybe it was annually. It was a use it or lose it sort of thing, the free passes for family and friends didn't roll over.
Sounds like a great perk if you have kids.
For salaried Cast, the passes are unlimited use. Typically you get three Guest passes plus spouse
Its great for families with kids. For single tech workers its ho-hum and used it for leverage in salary negotiations. Their total awards calculations are complete fantasy. But if you think broadly, there are ways to make it work to your advantage. Like Disney cruises?
I applied for an internship for data analyst and got selected for the Skype interview. How is the interview procedure ?
Nice work life balance. Pay is not good.
Thanks for the info
Pay is shit. They sell you on the "but isnt it a wonderful company?" pitch. Good resume builder though. Work there for a bit and move on to a more lucrative role.
