SoundCloud got better algorithm than Spotify?

I think that really depends for my music taste now, soundcloud does not. It’s why I stopped using it.

I think Spotify tries to find better music based on what it knows you already like. Not stuff similar to the song. Which idk if sound cloud does it the same or not. I imagine since lots of music on there is under-discovered, it probably does more of a genre/artist similarity. But this could just all be BS and sound cloud works better for you idk

Data engineers in Spotify are not very empowered, so even if the algo is better it’s not about “better talent”

Spotify Is much more commercialized But SoundCloud has the largest base of independent music creators
