Not even talking about Los Altos, Cupertino and Saratoga. Areas like west San Jose 95129, Santa Clara 95051, Sunnyvale 94087 selling like hot cakes. It’s going 500K over asking prices and the actual estimate. What’s so special about these areas.
Same in Fremont.
Not so much, South Bay is on different level with 1200 sqft houses going for 2.5M in schools like Moreland district and Santa Clara district
The shocking thing is people spending 2.5M to get a lot, then another 500k-1.5M to make it how they want. All to send their kid to public schools 😂
People are fed up of longer commute times with hybrid in place. Going from 0 commute to 1 hour+ is not appealing anymore. So folks want to move to South Bay for shorter 10 min commutes
I think it's the expectation that prices will go waaay higher if interest rates drop.
rates are not dropping. that is for sure
It’ll only get worse when rate actually starts declining. Can’t wait forever, so now or never
not sure about housing but i assure you rates are not dropping
They will inevitably drop. That’s when the real hot market will begin.
The whole South Bay is trash, can’t wait to get out
Why would one pay 500 over in 94087 when Los Altos is next door?
The South Bay has some of the best weather in the world, near some of the best universities on the planet, with some of the best hospitals and longest life expectancies in the US, with great amenities like museums and parks nearby, and regionally, is one of the best areas for food in the country. Oh yeah, and it has the shortest commutes to some of the best, highest paying jobs in the world and is the center of the technological AI revolution that will be one of the greatest developments in human history. I don’t think you understand what the phrase “dumpster fire” means.
I think the higher the bay area housing goes up, the higher the interest rates will go up and the higher will be number of layoffs. I know this doesnt make sense but if u look the overall US economy is a big chaos which doesnt make sense too
My balls are not big enough to buy a house right now. As soon as I do, prices will crash and I'll get laid off 😂 I'm happy saving and investing. Might even FIRE in a LCOL before I buy a house here.
You kidding? West San Jose 95129 is more popular than Cupertino. They got Lynbrook
Yes the Peninsula is on fire as well. 700k over ask in 5 days.
Which parts? I’m assuming MTV due to proximity to Google
Burlingame San Mateo San Carlos Millbrae Foster City
