Most of the colleagues I talk to continue in aerospace industry though they might jump between Lockheed Martin, bell flight, Boeing, triumph so on. Is anyone looking to get out of aerospace? Especially having worked with catia and plm system for more than 6 years?
I certainly do. I especially want out of civil service. I've been at it for 15 years and I spend more time fighting red tape and bureaucracy than I do innovating.
I left after 6 months, will never return
Yeah I’m looking for an out
I’m looking for an out myself. Tried to get to a company in multiple industries only to get locked in by management. KBR requires employees to tell their manager they are applying internally.
Same here. Also found out that supervisors are prohibited by company policy from giving references for current employees. Not defense, but you're not alone.
I had literally just left Northrop Grumman because my senior manager wouldn’t let other managers hire me or use me for tasks.
Left after a year. Likely never going back
Yep, looking to get out or at least move to a startup if staying in industry. Culture carries a lot of weight for me and I find that to be pretty stagnate.
I went from AE grad school to consulting with NASA for a few years. It killed my enthusiasm for the inudstry, and I changed to work in product management in a bank. Starting at Google next month. 🙂
How do I get in touch with you to ask more details on your transition to consulting? Really really appreciate your time
Sent you a PM
I would like to get out. I am having them pay for my masters for the time being. It's really not that bad though. 4 day week, permanent WFH, and 100k with 3 YOE.
What team and what do you do?
Got out last year. Feels nice to 4x your TC
What's your background and how many years in did you have?
Background is tech, spent the first two years out of college doing DOD contract work.
