Recently moved in with a guy who works as a chat bot “engineer” at Quantiphi. I have literally never seen him open his laptop or do any kind of work since the past 60 days and I just wonder, how?! Maybe some teams do need restructuring.
Dinosaur enterprises with enough revenue to not worry about tightening their belts any time soon. They’re hiring companies like Quantifi to do these bloated digital and agile transformations that take years. These projects are no different than over zealous infrastructure construction projects in the US, lots of workers and employees sitting around sucking in money while an aging enterprise tries to stay hip. It’s a shame too because with the right talent and gumption, chatbots can be a force of good.
And when the engineers get lazy and coast, they hire product owners, BS managers, and scrum masters up the wazoo. And somehow that only slows things down. Go figure, glut anywhere doesn’t work.
I work at Quantiphi as a chat bot engineer. My roommate is pretty weird that he keeps checking up on me to see if I’m working. What he doesn’t know is that I’ve outsourced my work to some guy in a third world country for one fifth of my salary so I can watch porn and jerk off during the day.
To be fair I know a chat bot engineer. Once it's built...the only time he has to work is if something breaks, or if there's a new page or product. So there are certainly times where he goes weeks with nothing in his queue.
Maybe that’s realistic a couple years after the launch, or their bots are low-tech. Kind of hard to do at the ent. level because there’s always a backlog.
Well he can LC hard in 15 mins, win win
You mean all engineers at Google?
But the hiring bar
