I’m applying for a SpaceX position in Hawthorne. A non-technical role, working in facilities. I wanted to get feedback on the culture, the facilities, perks, the treatment of non-engineers at the Hawthorne location. Also, what’s the vesting period or does it depend on the role/individual? Hawthorne has the best culture imo, way better than Starbase. Facilities would be interesting, there are so many different buildings from WW2 with all kinds of various projects happening in all of them. SpaceX is engineering run for sure, but there are engineers in Facilities. I'm non-tech as well and love it, going on 5 years. Stock vests over 5 years, 20%/year. Base salary is posted, and expect stock 1-2x your base over 5 years.
Thank you for the insight. I’m new to RSU’s, if you leave before 5 years, you lose all the stocks? If you don’t mind answering, what role are you in and has there been growth opportunities for you in that team? I’m looking to develop and grow in a role where I can ideally get in a salary range of 150+k being a non engineer Also, is overtime something you experience frequently?
Of course, once vested it's your to keep/sell or whatever you want to do. Is the position you see looking at hourly? That will really change things. And I started as a supervisor 4 years ago and have been promoted once. Started at 105 TC 4 years ago and am at 260 TC now.
