I thought Splunk was impervious to layoffs? So said all the Splunkies. https://www.marketwatch.com/amp/story/splunk-to-lay-off-4-of-its-staff-in-latest-sign-of-software-cutbacks-11675260328
No where is impervious to layoffs. Where have you been?
Looks like my team will be wiped out as well. Most of 325 laid off are probably software engineers. That’s a big hit.
Which team?
Who claimed that?! Internally, the messaging was always that layoffs were possible if we didn't cut costs drastically enough. We had a whole Slack channel and company-wide effort for it, mentioned multiple times in All Hands.
No we have them too
Was impacted too. Sad 😞
Which org? Hope you find a job soon
The writing has been on the wall for a month now. Everyone saw it coming. Kudos to Splunk though for handling it well, giving chance for people to discuss with manager and HR. Everyone impacted still have access and wasn't cut off by surprise.
Is there indication of future layoffs?
Not true for every org/team. Saw people caught by surprise, team leaders not consulted on who was cut, and people invited to a "town hall" only to be ambushed with a multiperson layoff. Utterly disgraceful.
Condolences to those impacted. Is there a decent severance at least?
3 base payment + April vesting
Plus bonus
I am so sorry. The hold order with the VC firm ends this month as well. I am concerned there will be more layoffs if the company goes private.
Severance?
