Modi is a legend, will be remembered for centuries to come
Hey all. I'm currently interviewing at Spotify for an EMEA position. The role is based in Stockholm, but I live in London. I have been told that I can work remotely if I want, but does anyone know what payment would be like for this? I have not been given an estimate what the compensation would be this role if I get it, but how would taxes work? Would I pay Sweden taxes or UK taxes? What about other local benefits (like private insurance)? Anyone has any insight on how this works with Spotify? I know they are trying to be truly Work From Home, but I really wonder how they are managing all this. Also, does anyone have any insight on how EMEA compensation is compared to other tech in London (including Spotify itself, which has an office in London)? YoE: 10 TC: 95K GBP #Spotify #tech #london
Your comp will be in line with what Spotify pays in London. You will get paid in the same way as a typical UK employee.
If Spotify doesn’t have a legal entity in the UK they will need to work through an EOR (Employer of Record) in the UK who will be your official employer for tax purposes and will handle payroll taxes and things. (You will be taxed based on where you live.)
The have an office (The Adelphi building) and a legal UK entity
That's very interesting. Thank you for all the input and clarification. So, basically, it would be as if one is working for a UK company even if the rest of the team is based in Sweden (or wherever else, really), which is not that dissimilar to most other tech companies.
Also curious about this — I’m based in the US currently but I’ll be relocating and will begin EMEA interview process for Spotify soon. Curious how the pay compares to similar positions in the US, and whether they tweak based on cost of living wherever you’re located in Europe.
