I have a 75-minute first round interview for a Senior Fullstack position with Spotify coming up. My recruiter told me to expect some backend domain questions and a typical data structures and algorithm coding exercise. Has anyone done one of these recently? What kind of domain questions to expect? Any DS&A topics to review in particular? Would appreciate any help here. #spotify #recruiting #interview

Domain questions depend on the position but there's usually a long list of trivia style questions with a somewhat wide variety of topics - if you are not familiar with one of the topics they'll try to move onto questions/topics you're more familiar with. The goal is not to ace the trivia but to get a sense of what things you have a strong background on. I personally hate doing them and they only added it recently but I guess a lot of people who can leetcode but don't really have actual domain experience have been making it on site and wasting people's time. The programming you'll be fine if you do leetcode practice. I can tell when candidates don't even remotely practice as it goes very poorly
Thank you for the detailed post. Very helpful!
what are some ways to prepare for domain questions?
