Gave my virtual on-site last week(6 rounds, 10 interviewers in total.) I've been told by the recruiter that broadly speaking, the feedback has been positive, but they're still waiting for two interviewers to submit the feedback. And will not have the final decision till after the new year. (Though I've originally been told the decision would be out this Monday.) Is that a good sign? Or I'm just not a top runner, aka, a backup?
It's likely just a delay because we've all been encouraged to use our vacation for getting a proper rest over the holidays, and last week was the final working week of 2020 for the huge majority. Hiring managers can't make an offer until all feedback is gathered, so you're just waiting for people to return to the office in the new year. Hold tight and stay positive :)
Thanks for the kind words! I guess there isn't much the HM and the recruiter could do at this point except waiting for those two pending feedback. I always assumed interviewers would submit feedback before vacation when the memory is still vivid, unfortunately, that's not the case...
I actually replied to the recruiter informing both the HM and recruiter about my upcoming onsites with other companies. Hoping to expedite the decision. Would that hurt my chances since it might being perceived as a pushy move?
Hi op. The same happened to me and I got the job. They can only share any verdict until all feedback came through and everyone lined up in the pipeline goes through the process. As others say, enjoy the holidays and whatever happens it is what was supposed to be!
I know this is easier said than done, but don't sorry about it. You've done what you can and it's time to enjoy the holiday. It could be that the hiring manager is on vacation and the decision is delayed, or you could be a secondary candidate. There is no way for any of us to do anything but speculate. Enjoy the holiday period and don't stress about this.
