I just finished the final round of interviews for a Spotify backend engineer position and was told that the feedback was great by the recruiter. However they decided to fill the position with another candidate. I already arranged a call for more detailed feedback with the recruiter but what comes next? Do I have to reapply to another position and do the whole thing again? What options do I get? Originally I thought there is a team matching round and I would be offered to different hiring managers but this seems not to be the case. Is there a cooldown period for reapplying? #swe #swecareer #spotify #engineering #software #emea #interview #finalround #backend EDIT: Another HM came from a different team a month later (Recruiter shared my profile), offered me a position I really like and now accepted.
Same thing happened to me but ended up getting an offer from another team. I didn’t have to interview again, just a call with the manager on the new team. During your call with the recruiter, id recommend seeing if there’s another team that you could be considered for.
Another team in the same vertical in which you initially applied?
Yup
Assuming you passed, 30 min calls with managers until there is a match.
Thanks for the answer, I hope I can be considered for another position.
So the manager call means that they passed?
Same situation, I gave interviews 4 wees ago, got feedback that I did well in all interviews 3 weeks after and that I scored high enough for senior SDE. I was waiting for management to come back from holidays to see for which team I would be considered and I was told that there are 2-3 openings for freemium. More than a week later I was told that they will not make an offer and that I can apply to other positions that I find interesting. I applied to another position I saw open and now I am waiting... Have you got your rejection feedback via email or they arranged a call?
One Spotify recruiter gave me positive feedback, the other told me I could have done better in the last 2 cultural questions 2 weeks later and that's why I was not selected and the 3rd that first scheduled me the interview at first had talked with the first recruiter and was surprised I didn't get an offer 1.5 months later. I believe they had multiple candidates prioritized with final score and requested TC and they were contacting them in order. The tech interviews were easy so I think they don't struggle to find candidates. They told me to retry in 3 months and they never contacted me for the other positions I had applied. I waited 1 month for onsite feedback and had to email them several times. Phone screen was the same. I had to wait a few weeks to tell me that I passed to the next round

Why no one cares about the lives lost in Gaza, Israel and busy in their own lives?
That's strange. If you got a hired decision how do they justify not giving you an offer.
Maybe someone from Spotify can give more insight
