(Facebook was an internship but I used the email the join Blind) New grad offer from Square. It's less than I was expecting. Do they negotiate? $110,000 Base Salary $15,000 Sign-on Bonus 9,000 RSUs $5,000 Relocation
Do you mean Stripe?
....no? Square, as in the card reader/payment platform that small businesses use to accept credit cards IRL.
You probably can and should if you think your interview went well
How high will they go if I have other offers?
That I'm not sure. Probably not as high as those posts stated on blind. I took a pay cut joining square after 1 year at google. Think of it as an investment. You'll gain lots of experience in many domains. Also my comp has almost doubled in the past a year and a half.
Will be challenging to live in sf on that salary
Nah def. doable, especially if you live try to keep living with that college means mindset. Supported myself and my wife on a little less than that no prob.
Lmao. No
9000 units or rsu or 9000 dollars worth?
You mean 9000 RSUs?
There was no vesting schedule mentioned so I assumed it was per year. 9k units per year would be GREAT but I doubt that's the scenario at hand.
I'd assume that's over 4 years.
ROFL, new grad is upset about "only" making 140k a year (3x the average American family of 4). Welcome to the 1%, take that offer, work hard, invest heavily and retire at 35. It'll be ok.
Capitalism kids
You have to make $400k to be in the 1%
Position? Also, always some room to negotiate.
New grad general engieer
Chief Proofreader.
Even Amazon pays more, just interview some place else for more choices.
you might get 10-15k more elsewhere but as someone who is starting a career i would focus on the non financial benefits that job brings. like working on some cool projects, smart teammates etc you will make up for the delta very soon
SQ is $16.79 now dumbass
That was harsh
Real life is gonna be hard on you...
