I had an onsite with #square recently. I think I did well in all rounds except system design. The interviewer wanted very low level details and also there was an issue understanding what the interviewer was saying because of technical issues. I just got an email from recruiter and they say they got the feedback and want availability to discuss feedback. What do I make of this? Is this a probable reject? Has anyone experienced anything similar? Does Square schedule a call to communicate a reject? #interview Update: it was a reject.
Hey! Can I dm you about your tps experience?
Sure
TC, Role, Location, YOE?
idk but keep us updated OP!

In my case after the interview I felt like I did ok in the pair programming rounds but not so good in the system design one. The recruiter also scheduled a call to discuss feedback and basically confirmed what I suspected, I got “overwhelmingly positive” feedback in everything except for system design where feedback was “neutral”, she said based on this feedback I almost got L6 but will be receiving an offer for L5.
When I got my offer, I was contacted the same way by recruiter, “do you have time to chat tomorrow.” It could be great news.
What was the hang up in the system design round? What kind of details?
A very thick Japanese accent made it hard to understand what the interviewer was saying.
What was your approach? You backend?
What is the timeline for on-site results? I had mine 5 days back. Wondering how long do they take to share results
Counting weekends? I got an update that "feedback was complete and it would be reviewed" 3 days after my loop.
Yes I had my interview early last week. So I am counting weekend. Do you have to follow up with recruiter to get an update? I am also wondering after how many days I should follow up
Did you know the system design problem ahead of the interview? Was it the hotel booking one?
Yes
What low level details were they asking about? Also, was it an Expedia-like hotel booking aggregator system or one that directly manages the hotels?
How the hell are we supposed to know if you have us 0 details on the questions you asked and the concepts you were able to implement?
The question was for people who've already interviewed at Square. I meant to ask if it is normal for recruiter to schedule a call to discuss negative feedback.
