Gave my onsite last week, the feedback was mixed and they are not going ahead Onsite had 5 rounds 2 pair programming 1 behavioral 1 Architecture overview 1 HM I got strong positive on 1 pair, architecture round and HM. Mixed on other two. I felt the pair programming went well as the interviewer had no feedback and was satisfied with my solution. The behavioral round was funny as the interviewers went off script and started asking me technical questions. I had to tell them that its a behavioral interview. Recruiter said he will float my resume around to see if other teams are interested. Am taking this as a sugar coated reject. Pretty much bummed. TC: 145K YOE: 3 #engineering #software
Was this for SWE? Maybe there was a misunderstanding with the recruiter. We don’t tend to use the term “behavioral”, and that interview is generally a technical discussion of your past experience.
Mobile engineer role. Its actually getting stuff done interview, i wrote it as behavioral because I was asked those questions. Ex: give me an example when you did this etc.
did you get matched eventually? or was it a sugar coated reject?
Lol you told them what to talk about in the behavioral? Probably why they gave mixed feedback.
Given that its supposed to be a behavioral, i dont seen anything wrong in letting them know.
I’d probably ding a candidate for that. It’s an interview — you should respond what you’re asked and not insist on talking about something else just because the recruiter mentioned it...
