Which of these two companies would be better for career growth and development for 3 YOE engineer? I want to maximize long term TC, but by learning as much as I can, becoming a highly-demanded type of SWE, and have interesting projects I can talk about in interviews. Between Square and Meta, where would my goal be more easily fulfilled? Please explain why in comments
Look at this highly demanded boi
Not yet :(
Meta. I am a bit concerned for Square with the new stripe + apple partnership and Jacks obsession with bitcoin
Meta tc will most likely beat square by ~20%, it also probably looks better on the resume(square is no slouch here though). But I’m obviously biased and would still pick square lol.
Why pick square? WLB?
Yep. Also culture here is top-notch, it doesn’t feel super cutthroat like some other places. Stock price is also like 60% from its ath at this moment.
Join square if you want to have great WLB . Technology wise it's a all over the place without directions. Learning is ok and team dependent
Thanks for the insight! WLB isn't my highest priority atm so maybe Meta fits better

Meta for sure.
Why is that?
FAANG on resume will open up many doors down the line. Meta still has top tech talent and is a great place early on in your career for career growth and learning opportunities.
