Who will win in the P2P space?
Zelle because they’re directly connected to banks. Venmo has a leg-up for now, but they can’t hold it forever. They don’t make money.
Lol nobody uses Zelle, trust me, and Cash App is currently sitting 11 spots higher than Venmo on the App Store free chart (19 vs. 30). Super bullish on Cash — they seem to be making all the right moves especially with their branding and marketing. Most people I know who used Venmo have switched over.
I dig Cash. Love that it’s easy to use, fast, and doesn’t have a bizarre social feed just arbitrarily there, for some reason.
Zelle is gaining traction because most of the banks are using Zelle rails to do p2p transfers. So it’s difficult to differentiate organic user growth where user has chosen Zelle over other competing services vs forced usage by banks
Apple Pay?
Used to be at PayPal, still have tons friends there: Apple Pay is eating PayPal’s lunch, and PayPal is scared.
This is actually interesting. Rumor is that Goldman/Marcus is working with Apple on financial products.
Nobody, it's a commodity market. Even FB is in it.
