Hi there — trying to get an understanding of what is a realistic comp of Sr Product Manager (L5/IC5 - L6/IC6, maybe?) at Netflix on the games team. Also, curious how does that compare against Sr PMs on non games team. Trying to get an understanding of what total comp should look like. #product #productmanager #pm
460-600
Ex- Netflix?
LoL - don’t listen to them… where is it located? Are you in office? Hybrid? Remote? How many years of experience? Do you have certificates? What products have you launched? These all factor in your pay as a Product Manager… don’t listen to the pay scale on this app, most are flexing on their pay for unknown reasons… Instead of negotiating pay, my recommendation is negotiate PTO.
Certificates? Can it get any early 2000s than this? But yeah, direct tv. Makes sense...
If someone interviewing for a sr pm role mentioned some agile certificate, I would probably mark them No
Was previously a PM, 350.
Just DM’d you. Hope you don’t mind
That’s way lower than I thought
Would love a referral as well for this team. Background in gamification
Games or gamification?
Gamification of games. Monetization is taboo, so gamification it is.
not all PMs L6 and games PM likely separate job family, if actually on the games side
Can attest as I said 410-600 is the range depending on value the person brings.
I love how some people are acting like $400+ salaries are completely unreasonable. Just look on levels.fyi - the expected salary for a PM at Netflix is $550k. I interviewed a year ago and said I wanted $500k and the recruiter didn't challenge me on it, and passed me on to the next round.
I did look on level.fyi and saw 550k too but it had no breakdown for TC. I'm trying to gauge what is base, bonus and stock split for the 550k if that makes sense. However, I need to get back with a total number
it’s all base
Netflix pays personal top of market, so it’s based on your experience and what you bring. Could be $300k, could be $600k depending on who they hire.
What does personal top of market mean
Is there anyone at Netflix I can DM for a referral for a particular PM role posted? Would be greatly appreciated!
I heard the pay scale is way lower in gaming side of Netflix. Not in the same band with Tech.
So like Half a Mill?
It is! The role I was interviewing for PM external games was between 250-275 TC. Learnt something from the interview: Folks in gaming don’t know their worth and will settle for lower comp. Passion > Comp Hence, games industry in general pays way lower than tech
