Just saw this on phonetool. Title says sr. Business analyst but function is data engineer. Is this common?
You can get any business title you want in Amazon, if your manager is ok. See some folks have senior in their title though they are L5. What matters is the job family and level.
My job was advertised in the requisition as a Sr Technical Product Manager, in Amazon that would mean the Product Manager - Technical job family. The reality is my job family, because of the short engagements we do, I’m classified as a Technical Program Manager but I put myself down on resume and LinkedIn as a Technical Product Manager, I’m also introduced as such.

Do Tech leads make more than Engineering Manager?
Yes. Totally common. You can have Business Analyst = Data Scientist or Business Intelligence Engineer = Data Scientist/Data Scientist. The internal title is what matters and that will determine the scope of work.
You mean data science/data engineer for BI?
External Title - BIE | Internal Title - DS/DE
