Sr staff Engineer at slack
What is the equivalent of Sr staff engineer on Slack in Amazon? Anyone know if they are actually hiring? I applied to the position a few days ago and haven’t heard back but it’s showing “in consideration”. Any interview tips in case it comes through? YOE: 14 TC: 300k

Slack provides assignments for applicants as part of their process and doesnt provide feedback apparently.
Senior staff external hiring at Slack is going to consider your previous experience and current level pretty heavily. Interview itself is very chill. They usually provide a take home project, go silent for 2 weeks, then move you on to a few hour long discussion rounds or just reject you there. Very little feedback in the process and they’re very slow to move. If you’re at a level at Amazon that pays $300k, it’s very unlikely you’ll get Sr Staff at Slack. They want it to be equivalent to Amazon L7 / Google L7 when they hire externally, though the job internally is much easier.
