How did he become a GP? He was a product guy and never sold any company. He says he was an investor in Figma etc. any one can claim to be an investor these days buying secondary market shares.

Led high profile growth teams that ended up doing well Then high profile early stage investments and exits. Notably Figma From doing both of those you’re gonna build an extremely strong network with big players.
Being a seed stage investor is different from just buying early stage. You’ve already gotta have somewhat of a network to get in on those deals. They’re not open to just everyone I assume his work leading successful teams at other big tech companies got him on that deal
They hire desi execs as they know how to milk desis best
