They directly denied me from boarding the flight. Gate guy tried to say I’m late and it’s too late to get on when people were still on line boarding. frontier support said I’m a no show somehow even though I got directly denied by the guy at the gate. I sent a complaint to DOT and this was frontiers response. —- We have received your correspondence as submitted to the Department of Transportation and appreciate the opportunity to respond. We regret to hear that you were unable to fly because you were denied boarding at the gate even when there were people boarding. Please accept our sincere apologize for all the inconvenience this has caused. According to the information I have, the flight was not boarded and was tagged as no show. Additionally, we can confirm that the flight was not oversold and that you check in 14 minutes before departure. The regulation for providing refunds for non-refundable fares has not changed and Frontier continues to comply with the DOT's rules regarding refunds. The regulation states that if an airline cancels a scheduled passenger’s flight, the airline is responsible for providing a timely refund at the customer’s request. Regrettably, we must inform you that your reservation does not apply for a refund or credit since the flight was performed without any incident. Remember, passengers are to comply with our Airport Timeline which is the following: 2 hours before the flight: ARRIVE AT THE AIRPORT 60 minutes before the flight: BE CHECKED IN WITH BOARDING PASS 30 minutes before the flight: BE AT YOUR GATE 15 minutes before the flight: DOORS CLOSE Also, according to our Contract of Carriage page 11 section 10, which passengers agree upon when booking, the following is stated: • Airport Check-In - It is the passenger's responsibility to arrive at the airport, taking into consideration travel time both to and within the applicable airport, including processing through the security check point with enough time to complete check-in and security screening processes. • Failure to Check In or Appear - If a passenger fails to check in or board the flight within the required time, the ticket will be deemed to be a No-Show Cancellation and canceled. All subsequent flights, including return flights, on the itinerary will also be treated as No-Show Cancellations. • Imposition of a No-Show Cancellation Service Charge – A No-Show Cancellation Service Charge will apply with respect to the ticket (or the segment for which the No-Show Cancellation applies) in the amount of the fare plus all ancillary purchases plus all government-imposed charges, taxes and fees and certain carrier charges attributable to the fare and ancillary purchases. Thank you for sharing your feedback. —- Note that 14 minutes part is incorrect. I checked in before arriving at the airport. Overall, fucked experience. I should’ve just gambled on the Boeing planes
Did you comply with their required timelines including arriving to the airport a full 120 minutes before the flight and not a second less? Might have a small claims case if can obtain camera footage proof that you had two feet inside the airport terminal timestamped correctly
Don’t have any camera proof unless I have the infinitesimal chance of getting airport footage. Only have my boarding pass email that I’m hoping I can use
Those aren’t requirements, those are just arbitrary numbers Frontier puts in their policy. They hold very little weight.
Why did they pull you out of the line?
You are exactly the classic person flying Frontier and why it’s such a bad experience. Show up to the gate before your flight time. If you’re late and they close the door, you’re out of luck. Hard to believe someone stopped you from lining up if they were still scanning tickets, but once they close the list they’re done.
Such things happen more often than you might think.
This has happened to me. I lost my phone hence couldn't check in via their app. Agent wouldn't let me in even though I had a ticket, they were still yet to begin boarding and plenty of space in the flight. Just because they hadn't checked in 60mins prior to departure.
Do you have the boarding pass and does it have the checkin time. Use that to respond
Just sent the email to them, I have the time on the boarding pass email so I’m using that to respond
Good! People should fight back when faced with such idiots. Keep us posted.
