Staff-2 at Coupang
I got a recruiter call for staff-2 position at Coupang. In the levels.fyi, it is indicated to be equal to L5 at Google but the recruiter told me that salary range for this is around ~650 while the L5 google salary is around 50% of this. Can someone share the scope of this level in coupang and how are the interviews? #coupang #tech #google #amazon Lot of Coupang employees come from Amazon, how is the culture at Coupang? the manager for this role is in Seoul, South Korea so I am expecting to have meetings in the evenings.
Avoid coupang, toxic environment, PIP a lot, No growth
Heard Coupang is Korean version of Amazon, in terms of pay structure and wlb and culture
you are so right, we copied your LPs, named processes after yous, doc oriented culture and obsession in hiring ex amazonians was a nice place few years ago but this place is going to the gutters, worse than amazon tbh especially the past 12mos

Scope is much higher than L5 at Google partially because the company is smaller and so you can own a top importance system as L6-2 or own relationship with multiple orgs. Depends on the team, but you might have to present to VPs regularly.
Just checking I have an offer from Coupang, what’s exact mapping between Meta L6 and Coupang, they are offering L6-2
