Standard Chartered Singapore 2 weeks buffer to prepare Offer ?

Hey guys, just got done with 4 rounds of interview at Standard Chartered Bank Singapore. I’ve gotten feedback from the recruiter that I’ve cleared all rounds but they’re waiting for approvals to release the offer letter and that it could take upto 2 weeks? Is this common during the hiring process or am I just getting strung long? TC: 120k Yoe: 2

When I got offered by Citi here in SG (I rejected it in the end), they said don't give offer letters but rather give a verbal offer and upon acceptance they will generate a contract (which takes 1 week with approvals). 2 weeks seems long. So idk what gives but if you are waiting for an offer letter to hit your mailbox without acceptance I have my doubts.

Usually, first is the verbal offer which will follow by an email confirming the offer. If you accept, the final official offer will come follow in a couple weeks.

I have worked in SCB earlier. They do take time for approvals before releasing offer letter. I hope you have already pass package discussion. You should be hopeful. 👍🏻

SCB here. Yes, SCB takes some time. What’s the role/org and band level?

Yes it’s because no matter internal/external application, the job must be posted in the internal portal minimum 2 weeks and the hiring decision can be approved if the hiring manager recruited someone by themselves
