Standing up to bullshit termination practices by shitty companies. https://www.tiktok.com/@brittanypeachhh/video/7322301313134415134 Applaud her bravery and the way she prepared her questions. We need more like her but unfortunately, in the corporate world, the value of a company is worth 1 million times the worth of a worker’s life and America loves money and business but hates taking care of its people. I’m afraid that posting this online would probably be suicidal in any line of work. Curious as to what HR/legal folks think. #severance #layoff #termination
Should all tech workers stop giving 2 weeks notice when we quit?
not a law
Shit, the way companies treat their slaves…er I mean employees these days, the recommended process I see on Blind these days is to basically continue working two jobs at once overlapping by at lest two weeks until you know the new job won’t fuck you over or rescind the offer and then give the last company a day’s notice to kiss your ass goodbye.
Unfortunately, the system has already been built and operating. The system from inside can't change itself so easily. This system has a function to optimize ROI, at the cost of humans. If slavery was allowed, pretty sure many people would have died already because of the punishments from their managers. Some ways: - create unions - push the government to change laws
Lol ave us government. Let me give you some life advice. The government never solves problems.
then overthrow it, why do you need more managers in your life if they are not adding value but exploiting you
Nothing of consequence was accomplished here. Sure, there's visibility, but nothing changed, or will change as a result.
That is the sad part. Until we reach a point where people feel they have nothing left to lose, we can only hope that we will see another storming of the Bastille.
