Systemic race based discrimination, wether it's against white people in employment or Asians in education, has become a major issue in America. I'm glad people are using the legal system to get justice in these cases. Edit: Looks like the case continued recently and Stsrbucks has been ordered to pay an ADDITIONAL $2.7M for this racist termination. Glad to see justice is be done: https://www.inquirer.com/news/starbucks-philadelphia-manager-white-fired-arrests-damages-pay-20230816.html?outputType=amp
So that's roughly 0.07% of their 2022 revenue. So translate that into working hours. About 6 hours out of entire year. Not even slap on the wrist, more like mosquito bite on the wrist. It's purely a feel good piece with no substance behind it
That’s pretty substantial. Especially since they’re retail. I bet they have shit margins
It's about 2% of their quarterly profit. It's significant for just one employee they harassed. Imagine if they get sued left and right by different employees for their racism
I wonder how they proved race was a factor in this case as opposed to just trying to suggest whoever the regional leader dropped the ball.
Maybe they stupidly made derogatory statements in public communications like most companies with DEI departments. I've worked at companies that said they wanted to increase x percentage of black and women managers per year and that brown people are too dumb to get IDs. Then if a company that has been saying they hate white people and advocating for discrimination, suddenly fires a white person for no reason, it becomes super suss
This is how it's done. We need to keep sueing and holding these companies accountable and elect more politicians who will crack down on ESG corruption. We need to close the civil rights department since it's captured, biased, and does the opposite of it's job

Good! Now they won't take non-black races for granted. The corporations have created woke narratives and made us to believe that discrimination only happens against blacks while other races never face discrimination. It's wrong, everyone can face discrimination. Everyone should be treated equally. No one should be given preferential treatment.
