Starbucks offer evaluation.

I got an offer for sr sdet role at Starbucks. The breakdown is 130k base /30k sign on /50k rsu vested over 4 years. I also have an offer from Amazon for QA Engineer -II. Dont have the numbers but from the grapevine I think the breakdown will be 120 base/60k sign on split into 2 years/100k rsu. Which one do you guys think is a better offer?

YOE?working at Starbucks sounds fun. Work at Amazon if you want to dedicate your life to wage slavery

It’s well known Amazon typically has >40 hour weeks for their employees

Amazon coder1775 Oct 30, 2020

Chances are you might get PIPed before all the RSUs vest

Oracle gJsr85 OP Oct 30, 2020

Is that so? Its a qa role so I wasn't too concerned about pip

Position remote?

Oracle gJsr85 OP Oct 30, 2020

For now. Starbucks extended wfh till oct 2021

Cisco bombarded Oct 30, 2020

Yeah, I meant if it's a remote position even after that.

Oracle gJsr85 OP Oct 30, 2020

I know it sounds petty but I wanted a FAANG in my resume. I know the starbucks role is better as its a senior SDET compared to regular QA role in amazon .

Cisco bombarded Oct 30, 2020

QA at Amazon is pretty bad. SDET at Amazon is comparable, prolly

Oracle gJsr85 OP Oct 30, 2020

What do you mean by bad?

Amazon tc sounds low. Push for 150 base/150+ RSU/sign on sounds right

Oracle gJsr85 OP Oct 30, 2020

I doubt they would offer so much for qae 2. The recruiter told me the qae 2 role gets a max of around 180k as gross compensation.

United Technologies jsfhfb Oct 31, 2020

Recruiters job is to get you for as little as possible. You have a competing offer so don’t be afraid to push

Amazon coder1775 Oct 30, 2020

Nope

Oracle gJsr85 OP Oct 30, 2020

Nope for what?
