Soon joining Starbucks. Just checking if I should be worried about any upcoming layoffs or offers getting rescinded. How’s the company doing? TC - 🥜#layoff
I’ve seen recruiter positions posted for them on LinkedIn. I would think no layoffs are coming anytime soon.
Swe
Starbucks is going downhill.
That depends, can you make a mean iced latte
Starbucks is good. Their stock recovered well. People buy Starbucks no matter what
Spell the names correctly on the cups
What’s the new TC? I never even considered Starbucks having SWE roles.
I work for SBUX in tech, and I think mass layoffs in the tech sector are giving an opportunity for the company to hire talents who prefer to be in tech with a significantly better equity based compensations. I think Sbux has competitive salaries, but rsu is a pittance when compared to tech companies.
You think sbux has competitive salaries?!? I’m non-tech and could more than double my base pay if I went to a non-tech role at a FAANG company. And that’s not even counting the difference in stock.
For tech (engineers), I see that the base salaries seem not far below tech sector in general, but still lags behind big techs who also pay better than small/medium techs
Things are really not bad here. Lots of changes happening - ancient tech to be modernized and new initiatives left and right. TC is nowhere near FAANG but cash comps aren’t too far off (bonus & stock are modest, usually in the 10% range). levels.fyi is pretty up to date for comps though doesn’t have a ton of data. Culture is great (in my org at least). Great WLB.
Any chance of a referral for a Data role?
Probably not that good. They just removed star point redemption for their cups
And why is that concerning? Sorry I don’t use it at all. So no idea what the points mean.
No they didn’t. We still get $20 off cups with 400 points. They just raised the points for food items.
