Asians - what are your thoughts on asian female white male ?
I was laid off by Meta back in November 2022. I started leetcoding and interviewing again in January. I very quickly got a great offer with 200k base, 40 sign on bonus and a lot of paper money. I was an E4 at Meta so the base is definitely an improvement but total comp isn’t a huge difference. The new company is a startup and everyone is working way too long and even eating in their desks! Plus having to go to the office 3 times per week isn’t the best. I miss all the perks and the great WLB I used to have at Meta. I don’t feel like I’m part of something bigger than myself when I say “I work at [Startup]” instead of Meta. /endrant
Fb was once a startup.
Also ex meta. Haven’t started looking because I’m giving myself time to recover from burnout. What city is your job in. How was the interview process compared to meta?
NYC! The interview process was quite typical and long.
Imagine making 200 base and complaining about some long hours and having to come into the office
So you want a medal now?
Even you are still there, with the tech industry adjusting itself, coasting is harder.
Got to a bank or insurance company. WL is a dream
I may do this in my 60s/70s
I have a senior engineer position open looking for Fullstack (node.js/react) experience. Full remote. Looking for tech leads. Working on client facing applications (product team)
I can do the client facing part. I’m not a software engineer but I have some Python, sas, and sql experience if that helps at all.
Unfortunately for senior we are looking for someone who already has this experience. Need large scale exp designing complex systems, influencing senior leadership, cross functional collaboration. Node.Js/react is a must.
To everyone shitting on op for complaining about 200 base, 200 isn’t much. And you’d be surprised at how many other much easier careers make 200.
I would be can you list three?
Yeah when other people get salty I just ignore them cause they obviously don’t put themselves first anyway should always be looking for higher tc.
Boohoo
Bro give me $200k a year and I’ll gladly go to the office every day lmao
😂 maybe I’ll get over this
I wont. I make way more from side hustles while wfh.
