I work for amazon as a data scientist. I have worked on a side project for a while (prior to even amazon) which is a mobile app related to finance and investing. I want to publish it and see if I make a buck. I also want to use an LLC for liability purposes. Will Amazon care? Any experience from anyone?

My only advice as someone who did a project like this - if it’s really a “let’s launch and see what happens” - if reasonable, hold off on getting the LLC until you have enough users / income to make it worth the hassle. The cost / yearly paperwork / shutdown of an LLC is a lot of work and $$ if it doesn’t actually take off. For mine, was something like 750 to get started with stripe atlas, another 500 a year or so in Delaware fees, and then another 750 to shut it down. Never made any money, since I was trying to grow a network and gave away for free. If I do it again I’ll wait until I at least make enough money off the company to pay for the Delaware fees for a few years.
