I am super passionate about food and the business. Has anyone started a restaurant on h1b? I know I am suppose to be a passive investor. So just curious how that works ? Can I make any creative decisions at all? I have some ideas to start a biz like that on bare minimum investment but don’t know how to go about it 🥺
I think you need hire US citizens to operate the business for you. Would speak with a immigration attorney first
Makes sense. I’d have to partner up with someone.
What types of dishes you can make?
You can’t sorry
Sadness. All those hell kitchen binges were for nothing.
Be ready to go back when you do.
Just like I should panic about getting pip’d after not working on tasks for weeks at stretch in Microsoft ? 😂
Can you really not do that on h1b? I actually want to start a new restaurant in WA with a michelin star chef
You can. Just have a team handle all the work. You can be involved as a silent partner
Get married and start your business on your spouse’s H4 EAD.
Only thing you can do on h1b is takeout.
Lol. Stock market is perceived to be passive investment (of course not day trading) so op thinks just as an investment. Thoughts ?
Yea I guess an investment like that . Except I’d like it to be my concept. So maybe have a 60-40 stake in a concept that I can start with a citizen.
