Startup offered me 145k
Used to make 165k TC by having a good connection at a startup who brought me in. But then the startup went out of business and I lost that... Now I'm currently on the job hunt. Recently got a job offer from a startup for 145k (all base salary, got some equity but nothing to write home about). Still have interviews with two of the big N companies upcoming, but not sure if i can pass the interviews. Either way, I might be able to finish the interview process with one of the two companies before the current job offer expires. Is 145k a decent TC for 3 yoe? At first I thought it was... Fine, but now I'm wondering if it's too low. Gonna try to haggle it up either way. Location: NYC Current TC 0
You don’t really have much of a choice here, you need to clear the other interviews. They likely won’t budge otherwise.
Fair enough but just in general is 145k low/high/avg for my yoe and in NYC (and non-FANG)
It’s probably on the lower side for NYC at 3 yoe. Any hedge fund or big bank could likely beat it by a decent amount. Try for Bloomberg as well.
