Apple ICT4: $210K base ~14% bonus (not written anywhere, but personal historical data points) ~$120K RSUs per year (~$480K unvested - including appreciation) TC: ~$370K/year Refreshers were around $80-100K per year VMWare Staff: $240K base 17% (supposed to be pretty solid to expect from what I'm hearing) $100K RSUs per year ($400K for 4 years) $40K sign-on TC: ~$390K/year (dividing sign-on over 4 years) Refreshers - probably around $0-50K - can someone confirm? Airtable L5: $210K base 0% bonus ~$1M RSUs with an option to take $40K as a yearly cash bonus $10K sign-on TC: ~$210-250K liquid / ~$460K if paper money becomes real at current valuation Refreshers - probably $0 - can someone confirm? YOE: 7. All in Bay Area. Trying to optimize for learning, growth and future prospects. No really learning a lot at Apple anymore, transferring teams is a pain and doesn't come with pay or title bump, ICT5 is unlikely to happen next year. VMWare team sounds pretty good (under UEM - can anyone chime in on their experience?). Lots of unknown at Airtable, so it can really shake out in every possible way; valuation seems pretty high My concerns right now: Apple: stagnating here, slowly making progress and learning very little - afraid of falling behind. VMWare: Dell-VMWare spinoff in early November and its effect on the stock price, company name (legacy? dinosaur? etc.), little to no refreshers (?). Airtable: paper money, high valuation ($5.7B, >60x revenue multiple), no refreshers or bonus (?), WLB, IPO timeline, insurance options + no ESPP or 401(k) match (which pushes Apple and VMWare a tad bit higher). Thanks! #tech #apple #airtable #vmware

AirTable is under my radar too. Do you know what kinds of IC work you will do at AirTable?
All I know is writing lots of TypeScript.
Thanks for sharing! that’s consistent with my impression that they are mostly hiring front end people
'Keep looking' is missing in poll.
Fair point. Can't edit polls, so thumbs up this comment to vote for "Keep looking"!
Keep looking
vmware refresher is not good (uncertain). Stock is performing poorly.
Stock is at 2018 price now.
Drop VMWARE - they are in a tough spot surrounded by AWS, GCP, Azure etc. stock price reflects that.
Sad but true.
Vmw: expect 50k RSU/4 if you meet expectations. But due to stock poor performance, we have really high attrition right now. And many team members are not motivated to work and focusing on LC.
Wouldn’t recommend VMWare, Apple is a high growth company and VMWare is an old schools dinosaur. Why not move to an infra org in Apple?
Airtable valuation is way too high. Would've been a good move a few years ago
I've felt that way about Notion's valuation since they were a unicorn
