Hi I am L4 at google from last 2 years, 6.5 years experience overall. I put my heart and soul in my work and deliver projects at best in my team, business goals & move metric. I am 31 right now. I want to move to US in next few years, currently US teams dont seem to be taking applications. Promo in my org is tenured/ political and seems it wont be possible by next year October unless people in line get promoted. I do have most some impactful launches in my bucket however things still are very slow here. I just got an offer from Uber for Sr. Software engineer for Amsterdam location, also i could take Uber India. Which amost raises my TC by 50% in India. It would be great to have other people view on taking +1 or waiting at google for another year. current tc: Rs. 7500k per year Uber offered TC Annual: ~200k Euros (base: 1,20,000 + stocks: 62500 + Y.bonus: 24,000 ) with JB: €: 20,000 #google #uber #offer #resignation #switch
Married? Then consider how you can move to Amsterdam with wife transferring her job there too.
Amsterdam offer and india offer ?
What's your org?
Can you share numbers for Amesterdam and India
Move to uber.
Uber
Ex-Uber SWE from the Amsterdam office here. Best job I've ever had! The downside is that the Netherlands suck if you have a family and are the single earner. Cost of living is extremely high and taxes are steep, so you get taxed like a millionaire even your family barely makes end meet. If you are single it's awesome.
Can you tell me good TC for negotiation at 5a level Uber Amsterdam ?
I left in 2018, I was SWE II (analog to L4), the level below 5a, and was making ~84K euro per year gross, if I remember correctly. Those numbers are likely outdated by now. I doubt they would low-ball you, they likely have pre-detemined pay bands.
Obviously take the offer for the uplevel. Pick whatever location you like.
Imo L5A in India is the best choice financially, more so if you're married and have kids.
Current tc includes stock?
And Amsterdam, live when young
