Hello friends, I recently had and passed my Twitter phone screen. The next step a single call with the hiring manager. Is this normal? I would have expected there to be a couple hour-long sessions of tech interviews followed by a behavioral round with the manager, but this doesn't seem to be what's happening. Can anybody shed some light on how Twitter's loops are put together? YOE: 8 TC: $183k #twitter #twitterinterview
Yes that’s normal. Sometimes that’ll happen before the tech screen(for me it did). It’s kind of a team match/culture fit interview. There won’t be any coding, the manager will just go through projects and talk about your interests.
Did you get an offer?
I actually smashed the on-site rounds. But in my coding round, after I was done solving, the interviewer started asking me about some c++ libraries I had never used. I made some guesses but ultimately told them I didn’t know. When the recruiter got back, he told me, that they were looking for a specific skill set that they thought I lacked in. So my best guess is the role was very c++ specific. And I know I did well, because the manager at Twitter moved on to a different company right after. He contacted me on LinkedIn asking if I’d be interested in interviewing for his other company 😅
How was your phone screen? I’ve mine scheduled next week. I had the hiring manager interview first before the tech screen. Lasted for 30 mins, 15 mins on your current work/background and 15 mins where they explain about their team etc
It was pretty simple… at least easier than I expected. It’s for a frontend position, though, so probably not super relevant for you.
I had hiring manager as first round and then phone screen after. HM round was very chill. Manager explained the role and team. I gave my background and projects I've worked on in my current role.
@OP can I contact you on DM to know more about the experience? I have twitter phone screen next week.
Sure, but know that my interview was for frontend so yours is backend I probably won't be much help.
How long did it take to hear back about the phone screen. It’s been a week for me
Surprisingly only a couple hours. I'd reach out to your recruiter... they seem to be super busy over there.
