Keeping it short: currently an L5 AE at AWS but was recently put on a team that’s increased my workload 1.5x-2x from last year. Comp is same as before. I’m wondering if it makes sense to explore external opportunities or stick it out at AWS. Would love some thoughts on companies that offer higher comp and/or whether it just makes sense to grind it out at AWS. It's tough out there for sales right now. I'd stay put for another year and see how the market reacts. I'm assuming you're ISR?
I’d stay and get your stock vest. Interview and get your resume out there if you’re sure you want to leave in the mid term
Former AWS ISR (laid off) here. Landed at Databricks as an AE. AWS pays better so if you need the cash don't change. If you have cash and want to gamble on the upside of some Databricks RSUs, come on over. They love AWS peeps
Interesting . I’ve seen roles at Databricks for sales that are 360k ote (hcol areas, enterprise and dnb roles) also aws. Is it really hard to make your number so is ote plus accelerator not likely?

Around ~4 years in SaaS sales, and 8 years total (4 more in a technical role with lighter client interaction).
