Still a good time to join coinbase?

I got an offer from coinbase for TC:200K. I really like the company and had a great time talking to all the engineers during the interviews. But I'm contemplating if it's still a good time to join the company. Not sure what the current valuation is and if there still is a decent upside (3-4x?) Current TC: 220K

Coinbase will be a 500b company, plenty of upside

That's a little too much. What exchange, trading platform is worth that much? And if the crypto market ever gets that big, expect competitors from all directions. It's not like Coinbase is known for its amazing ux or reliability. Besides it will be easier for competitors to jump in after Coinbase has solved most of the regulatory problems.

Bullshit. JP Morgan is 400B in 2020

Exactly. Or more.

Risky place to work at because it depends on the crypto market. Could be a good risk reward company if you wanna try to hit it big

Hubspot OJxm27 Mar 13, 2021

Aren't they valued at like 100x sales lmao. It's a good company but don't act like it's not already ridiculously overvalued

Ok boomer. Have you seen the sales to valuation ratio for snowflake, AirBnb, doordash? They’re still close to the overvaluation prices they IPOd at

Too much valuation for a full stack app.

Coinbase btctomoon Mar 14, 2021

🤣

Intuit sid d Mar 14, 2021

By that logic, most tech companies are full stack apps. Are you mad because Dell didnt make a full stack app?

It is frustrating. January hires could have a 200-500% higher TC compared to February. I’ve read on here that recruiters are saying 60 day trailing valuation pre-hire date. If true, that would be superb. Problem is there are also people on here saying it’s not that way. Attrition will go through the roof for new hires if there’s another crypto winter. It is gambling.

Okta ohtc44 Mar 16, 2021

Isn’t there a high chance that the 60 day trailing valuation will be close to the direct listing price?

Hey OP, would you mind if I DM you regarding coinbase interview process?
