Need some interview prep advise for Cloud engineer infrastructure role at google. I was told that they would still ask some leets but to what level (easy, medium or hard)?. I am an infra guy so quite used to Infrastructure coding but not really confident on my DS and Algos any more, so any pointers to prep for that in 3 weeks? Also any experience of working in that role in Google India would also be welcomed. Thanks #google #googlecloud #cloudengineer #googleindia
Thanks. Do they ask anything specific about ansible, terraform or other tools?
Nope.. never.. they always ask you to code your own way ( bash, python or any ). Never asses you on any of the DSLs . That's unlike Google. As said above, prepare well for practical coding ( learn basics of Big O , just in case ). But, be prepared for hard core system and troubleshooting, Networking as well.
Thanks man. This will really help a lot. Cheers!
did you crack it? how was the interview?
Just one round so far. Next round would be this week. First round was mostly RRK and practical coding
Can you share more details?
OP: did you crack it.. could you share some experience
Any updates and can you debrief the interview process
So had two more rounds, pure coding and one GCA type questions on system design and networking
What level was coding? Easy/med? and do we also need to prepare for trees/graphs?
Level should be easy to medium and they can ask probably anything but graphs is their fav so be ready for that
GCA can be quite open ended and you really need to add some perspective to it by asking specific questions.
Any resources you can share please? To prepare for such rounds?
Can you please share some preparation strategies and resources
Are you planning on applying or interviewing already?
Can you please share detailed post on preparation strategies
Can you please share your interview experiences? What kind of open ended questions were asked?
Don't worry too much about algorithms, for infra interviews, it's mostly practical coding and scripting. For eg, create a lock for a script so that , it doesn't get executed twice simultaneously.. etc . But, your troubleshooting and system side evaluation should be spot onz do well there.
