So I recently received an L3 offer for the Payment Intelligence (BE) org. Initially was supposed to be working on a Radar associated team but when the offer was given, I was switched to the Optimizations team -- I have a quick chat with a manager next week, but @StripeDevs, any insight on to what this team is exactly responsible for / how does it compare to other teams in the org/across the company? #Stripe #PaymentIntelligence
Pretty sure this team works on our Adaptive Acceptance product
Heard anything good or bad about it? Any idea what a backend eng (with a heavy math background) would be doing on a team like that?
Pay Intel eng here. Optimizations has been getting a bit of attention from Patrick (founder/CEO). They work on improving authorization rates (merchant revenue) and lower transaction costs. Their main products are Adaptive Acceptance which optimizes charge attempts and Card Testing which blocks fraudsters from validating whether stolen cards are still useable (this lowers costs by not sending sketchy transactions to begin with). There's also a bit of experimentation for measuring causal impact. So a mix of ML, back end eng, and data science.

Batching and routing transactions optimally to get best rates from the banks?
I think that would fall under Payments Infra, which is a different team I think? The whole thing is kind of confusing
