Hi Blinders, I've made it to the final stage of the Stripe interview process (SDE). The stage is called candidate review and involves a 20 - 30 minute's call with two reference contacts. I've no idea what to telly selected candidates to expect, has any ever done this before and can provide some insights? I feel like they will be interviewed on my behalf and really feel unfair putting this pressure on them. #candidatereview
Other industries reference checks are completely normal. It won’t be stressful for them at all
They used to ask for former manager and coworker. What level are you?
Senior I'm not sure how this translates for the role
Congrats, how long after the interview you got feedback
It was the next day
They called me once for a coworker. It was pretty standard as far as reference checks go. They asked me how long I worked with them, on what capacity, projects we might have worked on etc. happy to dm you
Thanks, they have finished now. Pretty much as you said, they're interested in my behaviour towards projects etc.
Awesome! I’m sure it went great! Good luck!
Is reference check the final stage ? Or will they again pick from remaining candidates who passed the interviews

Reference check is requested for certain levels or/and the candidate review is looking for additional signals to make a decision.
Do you know what kind of questions they are asking?
Yeah mostly general experience working with you, etc.
