Is Stripe's honeymoon over? There was gaga over Collison brothers. Hope that will slide as well. https://techcrunch.com/2022/07/14/stripe-fintech-payments-valuation-cut-28/
Whats your take on plaid?
Call me when it's 90% down.
Very soon.. already there are some 100 companies which does payment processing
Their Valuation should be close to Block ~40 B
SQ is more like 20B company.
Maybe but then stripe should also be closer to that range ..
The question regarding how much Stripe is worth matters only to those who can actually sell Stripe stock. I cannot sell Stripe stock, so to me a share of Stripe stock is worth exactly zero.
Why canβt you sell Stripe stocks?
Interesting. Would you be able to explain why? Is that because you don't have any equity, or something else?
Unfortunately for Stripes, they will not IPO for at least 2 years or until markets bounce back.
It's unpredictable at this point. Management got too greedy, decided even 100b is not enough for them. Now they may need to wait ten years to reach those highs, if ever. Feels bad for some of my ex-colleagues who went there.
Management? You mean Collision brothers?
What is stripe revenue?
What do you folks feel about plaid?
One of the most mismanaged organizations.
Stripe has awesome engineers and upper level management but the middle level management is all about dirty politics. Middle level management has destroyed Stripe and its culture. I guess this is what happens when you have folks from Amazon and Uber overload at Stripe. Stripe anyway is struggling as itβs preps for layoff in Q3.
Itβs true. My manager announced it to me. Weβre talking about 15%
15% layoff?
This makes sense to attract new talent
Yeah but they have a scheme equity policy
how does that work?
