Any Stripes know if I can purchase office equipment for reimbursement under the $2,500 remote office stipend before my start date? I'm setting up a new dedicated office space and would like to have it ready before I start. TC: 173k (L2 non-tech)

No. The receipts would need to be dated on or after your start date. The first week is onboarding so you don’t really need anything else besides a laptop and zoom.
Agree with this, expenses tend to go through fine, but not worth the risk of a receipt prior to start date
I asked the recruiter if I could buy a week before I joined and he said it was ok. I was able to reimburse after. This does not apply to other twic based benefits(wellness, education, etc) though.

Talk to your recruiter. Mine said just wait until I start. By the way the 2,500 is for employees with a Remote title. If you are assigned to an office you only get 1,000 WFH expense. Im guessing you are remote but just wanted to let you know in case.
You can start buying ahead, just save your receipts and submit once you join.
Recruiter told me okay to buy after I had a signed offer. I submitted expenses my first week and they went through just fine
